NFL Week 7 Betting: Rams-Raiders Line Slides on Adams Injury as Sharps and Public Diverge

NFL Week 7 betting action has produced some of the most dramatic line movement of the young season, with the Rams-Raiders matchup drawing particular attention after a major injury announcement. Caesars Sports opened the Rams as 6-point favorites at Las Vegas, but the number has steadily fallen to -4 by Tuesday, according to Joey Feazel, Caesars Sports head of football trading.

Rams-Raiders: Adams Injury Reshapes the Line

Los Angeles lost wide receiver Davante Adams to a ruptured hamstring in Week 6, sidelining him for 6-10 weeks. The Rams are also dealing with other injuries, including one to their kicker, though specifics were not disclosed. Those absences have contributed to a shift in the market.

The line movement was gradual: from -6 at open to -5.5 on Sunday, -4.5 on Monday, and -4 by Tuesday. Feazel described the action as two-way, with both sides attracting bets.

Randy McKay, a professional bettor, took the Raiders at +4.5 and noted the line was still available at some books on Wednesday. He sees parallels to last week’s Bills-Raiders game, when Buffalo was favored by 5.5 and won 33-30. McKay pointed to Las Vegas improving under coach Klint Kubiak and to the Rams losing in all phases while managing injuries.

The total has been volatile. It opened at 48.5, dipped to 47, and returned to 48.5 with the Under priced at -115 on Wednesday. Public bettors are leaning Over, but Feazel said the book needs the Under.

Packers-Lions: Total Reaches Week 7 High

Green Bay’s turnaround has been notable. After a 1-2 start in which they failed to cover in three straight games, the Packers have won and covered three in a row to reach 4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS. Running back Josh Jacobs is eligible again after the Commissioner’s Exempt List.

Detroit sits at 3-2 SU and 2-3 ATS, having alternated wins and losses before a 45-point outburst at Arizona in Week 5. The Lions had a bye in Week 6.

Caesars opened Detroit as a 3-point favorite, moved to -3.5, then back to -3. As of Wednesday evening, the Lions were -3 (-115) for the 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday kickoff on FOX.

Feazel said sharp money hit the Packers at +3.5, but since the bye the bulk of the action has been on Detroit. The total opened at 52.5, climbed to 53.5, and stands as the highest of Week 7 — three points above any other game. Feazel expects Over money to continue flowing.

49ers-Falcons: Bets vs. Money Split

San Francisco is 6-0 SU and 4-2 ATS, one of three unbeaten teams. Atlanta is 2-4 SU and ATS. DraftKings opened the 49ers as 4.5-point favorites, but the line dropped to -3.5 on Monday and -3 by Wednesday.

The game has drawn 67% of spread bets on San Francisco, yet 86% of the early spread money has come in on Atlanta. That discrepancy between ticket count and handle is a classic signal of sharp action on the home underdog.

Bears-Patriots: Thursday Night Action

Chicago and New England are both 4-2 SU and ATS. Bears quarterback Caleb Williams completed 30 of 36 passes in a Week 6 win over Atlanta. The Patriots have won three straight but failed to cover as 7.5-point favorites in a 26-19 victory over the Jets.

Caesars has kept Chicago as a steady 3-point favorite for Thursday’s 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Feazel said more money is on the Bears spread and the line could close at 2.5, leaving the book needing a Chicago win by 1-2 points. The total moved from 50 to 50.5, the second-highest of the week, and Feazel expects Over money.

Chiefs-Seahawks: Surprising Action on Seattle

Kansas City is 5-0 SU and 3-2 ATS. Seattle is 3-3 SU and 1-4-1 ATS, already matching last season’s loss total. Caesars opened the Seahawks -1.5 (-115) and moved to -2.5 (-117).

Feazel was surprised by the volume of Seahawks action and the relatively light interest in the Chiefs. Sharp money has landed on the Under, pushing the total to 42.5 by midweek.
